I've noticed this too; certainly the NNTP groups are a lot slower, although
they've been dying a slow death for some time now. Some people I know say
they are now too busy working and/or looking for work - they don't have as
much time for that sort of thing.

I don't know less work we're pretty busy and most of the folks I deal with
(subcontractors) are also busy. Having said that every list I'm subscribed
to is down in posts even css-d which has historically been at least 40 posts
a day and sometimes well over 100.
