Can I convert App::Notifier::Service from Dancer 1 to Dancer2?

Hi all, Is there a good reason why I should *not* convert https://metacpan.org/pod/App::Notifier::Service from Dancer 1 to Dancer2? It's a simple web app, meant to run synchronously, and I can debug it by using perl -d, and last time I tried doing s/Dancer/Dancer2/g everything worked nicely. Is there a good enough reason to stay with Dancer 1? Bug in Test case?

Hello. I'm trying to pair Template::Provider::FromDATA with Dancer to have self-contained dancer app. The repository is at https://github.com/JochenLutz/Dancer (branch pr/TemplateFromDATA). It works (but is still missing the POD). But: It breaks the test case t/01_config/06_stack_trace.t, and I think it's rather a bug in the test case - or me misinterpreting the documentation - than a bug in my changes. t/01_config/06_stack_trace.t calls | Dancer::Template::TemplateToolkit->render('/not/a/valid/file'); but according to Dancer::Template::Abstract, it's | render($self, $template, $tokens) so the first parameter should be an object of the class Dancer::Template::Abstract (or any of its children), not the string "Dancer::Template::TemplateToolkit". Or, if render() is meant to be called as a class method, I think this should be documented. I grepped through the whole source tree, this test case is the only place where Dancer::Template::TemplateToolkit::render() is called as a class method. Any suggestions how to handle this? Should I just change the test case or should I change my changes to Dancer::Template::TemplateToolkit::render() to accept being called as a class method? Regards, Jochen

Bypassing Splat Behaviour in Dancer2

I'm making a backwards-compatible implementation with an existing REST interface which has a lot of literal '*' characters in the paths, like: /devices/:name/*/integer /devices/:name/* But Dancer2 interprets the splat and tends to make it interfere with other routes. Is there any way to make it use it as a literal '*' character? I tried a regex: qr{/devices/:name/\*/integer} But that didn't seem to do the trick. Thanks, Timm

How to handle exceptions gracefully in Dancer2?

All, I am new to Dancer/Dancer2 and to the list. I have an application that makes some db calls and some rest calls to another site, and of course those can fail. I'd like to handle those gracefully. Can I use Dancer::Exception in Dancer2? Should I just croak? Or is there something else. I could not find a Dancer2::Exception. Thanks, --john -- John J. McDermott, CPLP

Hi folks, I'm proud to announce that Strehler 1.2.1 was relased today! https://metacpan.org/release/Strehler Big change between 1.1.x and 1.2.x is that now CMS allow developer to automatically activate APIs to retrieve informations about contents edited in the backend. https://metacpan.org/pod/Strehler::API In my opinion this makes the Strehler system "complete", somehow. Creating a complete site (frontend and backend) is still not the aim of the project, but now you can consider all the server-side logic implemented out-of-the box. Dancer::Plugin::SimpleCRUD and 'add_edit_row_pre_save' hook question

Hi Dancer users I hope you can help me. I'm pretty new to Dancer and I'm trying to write a simple web service for note taking.
