Still trying to get the political link to come up...

The problem wit h the computer started with some change in 
Kaspersky AV or ZA and it seems nothing could get out of the 
machine except the link to the ISP.   Permissions have been set 
AFAIK, but there is some information that Kaspersky alters files 
which affect the OS, so if things go pear shaped they are 
difficult to correct.

I need to know if there is a way forward on correction, or if it 
needs a complete reinstall - difficult as the laptop came with no 
discs!   I don't want to see time wasted if there is no hope of 
correcting the problem.

One other thought is that it may be some malware, but she has 
always been most careful about the defences for the machine, 
paying good money for both AV and firewall, as well as having 
more scanning progs than I do!    And actually using them ;-).
