Is this reeally the right place to send such an email???
Probably not, if for no other reason that anyone on the Dancer-users list would likely be well-versed in web development anyway. That said, this one is conceptually only slightly removed from emails selling me other things, such as body-parts-enhancement-gels-and-creams.
Hi, So there seems to be the opinion that this is the wrong place for advertising, even if Dancer related. However, maybe this occasion signals that we should be some commerical forum where Dancer service could be advertized. Do we want a section on the website or a separate mailing list? Or maybe it is enough to say somewhere that such stuff should go to the general http://jobs.perl.org/ A bit of commerical infrastructure certainly wouldn't hurt. my 2 cents maurice On Mon, Feb 28, 2011 at 12:17 PM, Mr. Puneet Kishor <punk.kish@gmail.com> wrote:

My personal opinion is that this list is the wrong place for advertising, even if Dancer related. That doesn't mean I am against advertising, or commercial ventures. Just that the Dancer-users list is a wrong place. And, that is my personal opinion, which doesn't really matter that much... it is not my list, after all.
However, maybe this occasion signals that we should be some commerical forum where Dancer service could be advertized.
Definitely. Perhaps jobs.perl.org. Perhaps a link/page on the Perldancer.org web site itself.

Certainly not. Dancer's success will very much be indicated by both commercial and non-commercial ventures that use it. I myself might, at some point, want to sell my skills with Dancer.
my 2 cents

I have to agree. Please do not send such materials to the list, at least not in this manner. Such a discount for web services (in Perl and especially in Dancer) sounds like a good deal, but try to keep it toned down, no need for an entire commercial with bright colors to the list. A short email saying "I will offering 50% on web development in my firm, @more_details..." would go a longer way IMHO, and won't feel like spam to anyone. Thanks.
Why not offer dancer service per groupon? That seems timely. Or maybe we need a groupon for web development. Should be written using dancer of course... I am not completely serious, of course. On Tue, Mar 1, 2011 at 9:58 AM, sawyer x <xsawyerx@gmail.com> wrote:
