rendering markdown/wiki/etc with dancer?

Hi, I'd like to store text blobs in a database, and render them to HTML with Dancer, with minimal formatting capabilities. It's for a small, self-contained project, so I was thinking something like markdown/reStructured/Wiki or similar. I only need very basic text formatting, nothing fancy. Any recommend Perl modules to do that? Thanks, -gordon

AUTOLOADed methods in use'd Perl module not found

Hi All, Long time Perl coder but new to Modern Perl and Dancer. I am using Dancer to provide a RESTful API to an existing Perl module. The problem I have is that none of the AUTOLOADed methods appear to work when I use the module in Dancer. If I use the module in a CLI script the AUTOLOADed methods work. Any ideas why the AUTOLOADed methods are not found? The error message I get back is: Warning caught during route execution: funtion name not found for get_chassis_inventory at /Users/dgethings/git/Sloe/lib/Sloe.pm line 51 I've done some googling and have had no success in finding anyone with a similar problem. Nor can I find away to access the Perl debugger when using Dancer to see what my available object methods are. Any help in any area is greatly appreciated. -- Cheers Dg

Dancer implementation of Boggle word game

Hello fellow Dancer devs! For anyone familiar with the word game Boggle ( http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Boggle&oldid=496588593) I have implemented a very basic version in Dancer, which can be found here: https://github.com/nmarley/BoggleGame-Dancer It uses the Dancer::Plugin::Ajax and jQuery for the word list. It isn't multiplayer (yet), and doesn't validate any words. Other TO-DOs include to add a timer, to add grid validation (see if the word actually exists in the grid), and to lookup which user-supplied words are actual words in the English language (or any other language — different language dictionaries could be another feature). hi, using 1.3095, I just got a "view not found" error in the browser with the usual long dump. Would it be possible to include the name of the view? That might help in debugging. regards Gabor ps. I found my bug, this is just a generic question in preparation for the next time I make the same typo

sane error messages

When Dancer came out, I exclaimed that "Dancer is a breath of fresh air in the convoluted world of Perl web frameworks." (see http://perldancer.org/) However, there is still much to be done. Consider the error message below. What it really was trying to tell me what that I had a couple of tabs in my "development.yml" Could the error messages be made more sane by default? Dancer logging stringifies some data

Hi all, I don't have the time to fix this right now, but we had a very interesting issue. I had this line in my code: info "Bidding on auction $id", $bid; That turned out to be a massive bug! $bid is a hashref that gets serialized to JSON. Unfortunately, the act of printing out the data flipped one value from an NV (float) to a PV (string). That caused the JSON serializer render 1.2 as "1.2". Sadly, the system I was sending this data to reported a bizarre "Request throttled" error instead of a JSON validation error. The simple fix was to drop the $bid from the info() and add a test to ensure that I have a NV instead of a PV. If anyone wants to look into this, that would be great. Perhaps adding optional cloning of the data in the logger prior to printing it out?
