If in a POST request I call redirect '/' then Dancer2 will create a POST request to '/'. Is it possible to redirect to a different method (e.g. a GET request to '/')? Gabor

How to change route in the before hook?

Using Dancer2 I would like to change the route before the user reaches the route. (e.g. if the user is not logged in) https://metacpan.org/pod/Dancer2::Cookbook#Before-filters---processed-befor… seems to suggest forward hook before => sub { forward '/foo/oversee'; }; but that just lead me to deep recursion. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong? My assumption was that after that forward the before hook should not run again. So maybe I need to rephrase the question? How to change the rout on the fly and NOT call the before hook again? regards Gabor

how should I set a setting while parsing command line options (GH#393)

Hey folks, So I'm working on fixing issue #393: https://github.com/PerlDancer/Dancer2/issues/393 I'm sorry to have gotten jammed up with such a simple task. I ran into a small issue which might relate to other things going on. (1) I cannot use setting(port => 1234) or setting(environment => "stage") inside GetOpt like Dancer1. It fails. Here is the line that fails: https://github.com/gideondsouza/Dancer2/blob/pr/command_line_support/lib/Da… @mst did point out this is incorrect, I should point to the config setting on the app instance. A larger problem here is that this doesn't work either. (2) $app->setting(..) or $runner->setting(..) don't work. See : https://github.com/gideondsouza/Dancer2/blob/pr/command_line_support/lib/Da… What also perplexed me is that if I put a breakpoint at a line inside Dancer2::import it wouldn't stop and just go and run the server. So what should I do here? Setting $ENV{} works. Should I do this? Am I doing something wrong? Is there anything else I should fix first? Regards, Gideon

Dancer1 plugins and Dancer2 plugins

I could not find any information on this, but what is the recommended way of migrating Dancer1 plugins to Dancer2? Is it to add version checking while keeping the Dacer1 naming or is it recommended to rename the plugins to Dancer2::Plugin... ? I apologize if I am uncovering some heated debates relating to the subject.

Tiny problem with sessions in a Dancer2 plugin

I would really really appreciate some help on this tiny problem I'm having. I'm porting my Github Authentication plugin into Dancer2, but for the life of my I can't get it to work and I've been stuck for days now on this. *Everything works*, but it's just the the session value that is set from within the plugin is undef inside the application. Now, the session is undef here in the app: https://gist.github.com/gideondsouza/6718224#file-test_github_plugin-pl-L14 Is it because I'm calling the init() method here and this method setups up a route? https://gist.github.com/gideondsouza/6718224#file-test_github_plugin-pl-L9 Is there a way to add routes inside a plugin, on init or something like that? I have a hook: hook before_template => sub { my $tokens = shift; $tokens->{prefix} = prefix; }; Is this a good candidate to implement in https://metacpan.org/module/Dancer::Template::Abstract as default Dancer inject like qw(perl_version dancer_version settings request params vars session); ? -- Henk

Dancer2::Template::Mason2

Hi everyone, I have done some work on migrating the Dancer::Template::Mason2 plugin to Dancer2. The code is located on github: https://github.com/theslava/perl-dancer2-template-mason2 I would love to hear some feedback (I am sure backwards compatibility with Dancer1 will be one of the points). Please keep in mind that I am very new to Moo(se)/Dancer and there are some things that I have done in the code that I do not completely understand. This code is based directly on Jonathan's code so the license for this plugin is the same as his. I think the license he mentions in his code is the Artistic License 2.0 ...
