1.1809 broke my 1.808 load_app

I had the following in 1.1808 and it worked package foo; use Dancer ':syntax'; load_app "foo::bar" , prefix => "/bar"; load_app "foo::baz", prefix => "/baz"; and my filesystem is app/ lib/ foo.pm foo/ bar.pm bar/ barstuff.pm baz.pm baz/ bazstuff.pm I just upgraded Dancer to 1.1809, and now I get a four oh four on /bar and /baz What gives? -- Puneet Kishor

The http://perldancer.org/contribute page says to report issues on rt.cpan.org. The 'View/Report Bugs' link on http://search.cpan.org/~sukria/Dancer-1.1809 points to github. So when should we submit tickets to rt.cpan.org versus github? Thanks, Naveed

Hi fellow dancers, So far I know only how to return output via return. As far as I can see, this requires that I already have the full content available at the point when I return. I wonder if there is there is a webapp equivalent to this foreach (@big_loop) { my $result=do_something(); print STDOUT $result } where I can calculate a piece, output it and continue to do so until done. This would bring down the lacency (until response begins) enormously. I am working on a OAI data provider, see http://www.openarchives.org/OAI/openarchivesprotocol.html. The specification requires me to deliver a potentially big xml via http. I would love to generate this xml on the fly. Or do I get something totally wrong here? Any suggestions greatly appreciated. thanks from the beginners' dance class Maurice

Hi, I'm using lighttpd with the following settings: $HTTP["host"] =~ "hci.deri.ie" { fastcgi.server += ( "/" => ( "" => ( "socket" => "/tmp/fcgi.sock", "check-local" => "disable", ) ) ) } In a newly generated dancer app (dancer -a test) I run: plackup -s FCGI --listen /tmp/fcgi.sock /home/testuser/test/test.pl when I go to hci.deri.ie in the browser I get the dancer start page but without any styles. ajax method, what? why? how?

I can't figure out how the ajax method works. In my JavaScript (with jQuery), I have $.ajax({ beforeSend: function(xhr){ xhr.setRequestHeader("X-Requested-With", "XMLHttpRequest"); }, url: '/model/' + model_id, dataType: "json", success: function(data) { // do something with } }); and, in my App.pm, I have ajax '/model/:model_id' => sub { my $result = do something with model_id return to_json($result); } however, the above doesn't work at all. I get a 404. If I change the ajax method to get '/model/:model_id' => sub {} then it works fine. Which brings me to the question -- what is this ajax method supposed to do better than get or post? Ajax and Dancer

I am trying to use Ajax, and javascript is expecting a content-type of text/xml. I have come up with the following pattern, which is not very pretty. ajax '/hello' => sub { my $data=<<'EOD'; <taconite> <replaceContent select=".target"> NEW DATA </replaceContent> </taconite> EOD return Dancer::Response->new( content => $data, headers => [ 'Cache-Control' => 'no-store, no-cache, must-revalidate', 'Keep-Alive' => 'timeout=5, max=99', 'Connection' => 'Keep-Alive', 'Transfer-Encoding' => 'chunked', 'Content-Type' => 'text/xml; charset=UTF-8', ] ); I would pefer something like this: ajax '/hello' => sub { my $data=<<'EOD'; <taconite> <replaceContent select=".target"> NEW DATA </replaceContent> </taconite> EOD return $data ; } What would be the best/nicest way of doing this? Dancer::Route uses the global content_type, but that would seem to affect all content_types. A related question is: How can I set context related information. Peter

I upgraded to 1.1808, to benefit from the new work done by the developers, and also to try out the new, multi-folder pattern suggested by Sukria. So, now I have appdir/ yourapp.pl lib/ yourapp.pm yourapp/ function1.pm function2.pm views/ function1/ function2/ in yourapp.pm, you mount your subapps like that package yourapp; use Dancer ':syntax'; load_app 'yourapp::function1', prefix => '/function1'; load_app 'yourapp::function2', prefix => '/function2'; ... and in your subapps: package yourapp::function1; use Dancer ':syntax'; get '/' => sub { " template '/function1/index'; }; So, first, in my subapps, I have to specify the full relative path to the views as shown above. That works. But, now I want to create modules for the subapps as well. This would be in the spirit of how there is Dancer::Session::Abstract, and then, there are the real Dancer::Session::YAML and Dancer::Session::Simple, etc. My reason is thus -- take either function1 or function2, and provide the ability to query data with the same call, but from different data stores based on a config setting. So, the user calls `data()` but if the config setting is 'db' then get the data from a database, or if the config setting is 'file' then get the data from a file. So, now I have appdir/ yourapp.pl lib/ yourapp.pm yourapp/ function1.pm function1/ data.pm file.pm function2.pm function2/ data.pm file.pm But, I can't figure out what is the path to my modules? dance being called twice

I am still on Dancer 1.1805. I have a weird problem. For some reason, my application seems to be running twice for every request. I put a few debug messages, and you can see below what is happening.
