White gold....

My weekly trip to the supermarket last week
provided a minor shock to the wallet, dairy 
products, cheese butter and milk are now more
expensive than petrol [gas].........

Fonterra, the producer owned dairy company
has today announced its half year profit:
$7.3 billion dollars :-(

Sport....

News report - the expected audience for the 
US Superbowl is expected to be 100 million,
that is approximately 33 per cent of the 
population...........

Now if the game was an All Black test the
percentage population in NZ would be 90%.....

January is almost over and so far the 
world championship haul for kiwi sports
stands at 5..........


Across the ditch......

With some delight we note that an
Australian of the year, a prestigious
annual award, just happens to be a 
New Zealander.......

Ernie Els has just opened a golf course in 
Dubai which he designed.....to celebrate they
had a game of cricket,,,,, Andrew Flintoff got
hammered by the South African, the comment:
"At the moment Flintoff wouldn't even make the
village eleven......."

Incidentally, going up next to the golf course
are a 25,000 seat cricket oval and a 60,000
seat rugby ground.......


Sport 4

A deal is in the offing with USA Rugby to
help promote the game there, with the powers that
be looking at ways of playing test rugby in the US..

It raises the possibility of a series of tests if
for example Argentina joins the Trinations, then
all those games could be played there, one of the 
stumbling blocks has been the travel time involved
in getting to and from Sth America......
