Hi, I've been lurking for the past few months, but I don't have a complete notion on the status of Dancer2. I'm starting two new projects this week, small websites, one a intranet, another a small ecommerce site. I would like to use Dancer for this but I don't know if Dancer2 is ready or not. Also, is dancer-users@dancer.pm the new official mailing list for dancer? Bye, -- Pedro Melo @pedromelo http://www.simplicidade.org/ xmpp:melo@simplicidade.org mailto:melo@simplicidade.org
Hello, For any new application, I would definitely go with Dancer2, without a doubt. It's mature enough to be the right choice for new webapps. Also, in this train of thought, I would argue that we could change the link on the website to point to Dancer2 instead of Dancer1, any thoughts about that? Or at least providing both links? Cheers 2013/4/29 Pedro Melo <melo@simplicidade.org>

Hello, Please leave with providing both links? I am going to deploy 5-6 applications at the end of may using Dancer 1 code, I would guess it takes another 5-6 months for me to move to Dancer 2. Thanks, PG. On Apr 29, 2013, at 10:24 AM, Alexis Sukrieh wrote:

I'm just speaking about the website, http://perldancer.org, not CPAN :) Dancer1 will still be available and maintained for as long as we want it to be. I'm jsut speaking about marketing concerns here. 2013/4/29 Prasad Gunasekaran <pg6@sanger.ac.uk>

Certainly the home page should be updated if Dancer2 is ready, or it will remain stealth. Dancer2 should also be announced at places where many eyes look. It would be very helpful to list the good's and bad's for Dancer1 vs Dancer2, and if this perl framework generally has advantages over those in other languages, then that too. The Meteor people (meteor.com) send a newsletter when there is a new minor version and their release management is good. Niels L On Mon, 2013-04-29 at 11:24 +0200, Alexis Sukrieh wrote:

Is Dancer2 release announced? Where can I find the reference docs, except from the github repo? Thanks, Kaiwang

This is really what I need, especially Dancer2::Manual. Well, it is 0.0.4, any reason for such a low version number? Thanks, Kaiwang
