If you are at yapc, please, oh please, sign up to do a lightning talk. Dancer is cool, and a lot of people don't know about it. Might be too late, but with some support, I bet you can still get on the bill. (i would, but spoke already)
These are the slides for a lightning talk I just gave at FPW 2011: http://www.slideshare.net/xSawyer/your-first-website-in-under-a-minute-with-... I have no problem if anyone uses it to give the lightning talk. It's very simple, nothing to learn. On Wed, Jun 29, 2011 at 8:18 PM, Jonathan Hogue <jon@hogue.org> wrote:

My talk "Modern PerlCommerce" is also related to Dancer: http://yapceurope.lv/ye2011/talk/3464 Regards Racke -- LinuXia Systems => http://www.linuxia.de/ Expert Interchange Consulting and System Administration ICDEVGROUP => http://www.icdevgroup.org/ Interchange Development Team
So, there was a 50 minute talk scheduled at YAPC::NA. However, the speaker didn't show. But I had just gotten the lightning talk slides from sawyer x, so I jumped up and presented those slides. (Having never even reviewed them. hahaha). But I set the bar so low... Yanick Champoux from the Ottawa PM stood up and gave a really good 20-30 minute introduction to Dancer, complete with live, impromptu coding. He's pretty much a super star. So, my pro tip: Be ready to give a talk on Dancer on a moment's notice :-)
This is amazing! Two surprise speakers!! We have the best community without a freakin' doubt! :) On Fri, Jul 1, 2011 at 7:00 PM, Jonathan Hogue <jon@hogue.org> wrote:

That's pretty damn awesome. Respect to both of you, and thanks :) -- David Precious ("bigpresh") http://www.preshweb.co.uk/ "Programming is like sex. One mistake and you have to support it for the rest of your life". (Michael Sinz)
