Plugin nesting in Dancer2

Hello all! I have a question about the plugin nesting in Dancer2. I'd like to know if using a plugin (notably the Dancer2::Plugin::Database) inside another plugin is doable or deprecated or hacky or unsupported or just can't work. This used to work with Dancer1, but now it's unclear if and how it should work, as we don't do "use Dancer qw/:syntax/" anymore. Dancer2 sessions and cookies?

I am trying to add sessions to my new Dancer2 based applications and it drives me crazy as usual. In config.yml I added session: YAML in my login route I added session last_seen => time; Running the applications using plackup -L Shotgun bin/app.pl and accessing it via http://localhost:5000/ (though I get the same behaviour with perl bin/app.pl as well) after I pass the login route I see a new yml file created in the sessions/ directory but when I check my browser I don't see any cookies from localhost and when the code checks in the next get request if (session('last_seen')) it is false. My understanding is that Dancer should set a cookie with the id of the session which is the name of the yml file in the sessions/ directory. What do I need to configure in order to get this working? Dancer and Coffeescript

Hi everyone, I have managed to make Coffeescript work with my Dancer2 app, but I'm facing an additional challenge: Source maps won't work, and I'm guessing it might be caused by my files structures. If anyone has managed to use Dancer with Coffeescript's source maps, I would appreciate some help. My file structure is simple: all my .coffee files are in public/coffee. And their .js and .map counterparts are in this same folder too. plack middlewares not loaded from config.yml

Hi dancers, I manage to load Plack middlewares from app.pl, but not from the config.yml file. *** In *app.pl* I have: use Plack::Builder; builder { enable 'Debug', panels => [qw<Memory Timer>]; HabitLab->dance; }; which works. *** Here is what i put in *config.yml* instead (and which doesn't work) : layout: "main" plack_middlewares: - - Debug - panels - - Memory - Timer I know that the config file is used, because my layout is used. And I know that this YAML is valid, and produces the following structure (outputed with Data::Printer) : \ { plack_middlewares [ [0] [ [0] "Debug", [1] "panels", [2] [ [0] "Memory", [1] "Timer", ] ] ] } What I don't understand, is why the middleware doesn't work in this case. setting header before redirect

Hello everyone, I have two simple Dancer 1 apps, I'm creating a specific header in one, and then redirecting to the other application. I would expect to find the custom header in the second application, but I don't see it. I'm also using Data::Dumper to view the request in the second application and I don't find the header there either. Setting static files to 304 - Not modified

Hi, I've using Dancer2 with Plack/mod_perl with Apache (I was previously using Dancer with CGI, but can't get CGF or FCGI to work with Dancer2). How to I set my static files to report '304 - Not modified' to the browser? When I use Firebug to look at all the file load times and turn browser caching on, all the files from CDNs report '304 - Not modified', but all those served through Dancer report as '200' and hence are transferred each time. This is fine for the dynamic pages, but unnecessary for the static files (logos, css, javascripts). Thanks, Matt

Apache environment in FCGI app

Hello, I'm working on my first Dancer application and want to deploy it in our standard server environment here. For authentication/authz we have custom mod_perl auth handlers that set Apache environment variables with user ID, group membership etc. I'm trying to write an implementation of Dancer::Plugin::Auth::Extensible::Provider that does auth/authz by reading those environment variables however %ENV isn't populated in my Dancer app. Looking at the source of public/dispatch.fcgi I noticed the following: # For some reason Apache SetEnv directives dont propagate # correctly to the dispatchers, so forcing PSGI and env here # is safer. set apphandler => 'PSGI'; set environment => 'production'; Can anyone tell me if it's possible to get %ENV through to my Dancer app or perhaps a different approach for auth/authz that uses $ENV{REMOTE_USER} and our custom Apache environment variables? LPW Dancer2 class - test run
