Check the modified dates of the files in production.  Unfortunately you
really can't tell who's working on them unless you have some sort of source
control for them.

Update - I got an email from the website owner today to tell me that an
error is popping up on the main website. The strange thing is that I have
been working only on the test site. Is there a way to find out if someone is
messing with the site? I suspected as much when the sign up suddenly stopped
working, but how can I tell for sure?
